Besan Ladoo is another traditional Diwali Sweet. It is very simple, quick and easy to make sweet like our other traditional SouthIndian Ladoos like Maa Ladoo, Rava Ladoo etc. Diwali is all about fun and frolic. We love making lots of sweets and snacks and share it with our friends and relatives. This Besan Ladoo is one such sweet easy to share with friends and family. Tips for making Besan Ladoo:

  1. Use coarse besan for this ladoo.
  2. Fry dry roast besan in very low flame for about 7 mins till the besan becomes a little darker in color and you get a nice aroma
  3. Use another timer for 15 mins timer to cook besan with ghee in low to medium flame. Make sure to cook besan in low flame so it doesn't get burnt and also do not over cook in low flame as it gives a bitter taste
  4. Once the ghee oozes out after 15 mins, switch off the flame immediately and then add powdered sugar.
  5. Besan ladoo stays fresh at room temperature for 3 weeks. If refrigerated it stay fresh even for couple of months.

Besan Ladoo is a very popular ladoo variety with gram flour, powdered sugar and ghee. A very tasty and flavorful ladoo to share with friends and family! Learn here how to make this Ladoo with step by step pictures, instructions and video!

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Besan 1 Cup - 250ml
  • ½ Cup Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Ghee
  • 2 tablespoon Cashews
  • 4 nos Cardamom

Instructions 

  • Take the sugar in a mixer jar along with cardamom.
  • Grind it to smooth powder.
  • Heat a teaspoon of ghee in a pan. Add cashews and fry till the cashews till light golden.
  • In the same pan, add the besan and fry in low flame for about 6-7 mins.
  • Slowly the besan becomes light golden and you can smell a nice aroma.
  • Now, add the ghee and combine well with the besan.
  • Keep stirring continuously in low to medium flame. Initially the mixture is thin in consistency. Slowly the besan starts to absorb the ghee completely and becomes thicker
  • Keep stirring for 15 mins in low to medium flame. You can notice the besan mixture becomes more dark golden color. Around 15mins, you can notice the mixture again becoming thin, switch off the flame now.
  • You can see the ghee oozes out. Add ghee roasted cashews and give a good mix. Allow the besan mixture to cool off for 5 mins.
  • Now, add the powdered sugar to the besan mixture. Give a good mix.
  • Take handful of besan ladoo mixture and roll it to lemon sized ladoos. Repeat the same for rest of the besan mixture.
  • Besan Ladoo ready to serve!
